Deze fruittuin is een uitgestrekte boomgaard nabij het centrum midden in het groen: 12 hectaren appel-, peren- en pruimenplezier. Dit was in 1930 een werkverschaffingsproject van Philips waardoor de arbeiders gestimuleerd werden om gezond fruit te eten. Wandel tussen de bomen en waan je even in het paradijs. Hier wordt fruit geteeld met respect voor de natuur. De mooiste picknick ooit. Pannenkoek eten tussen de bloesems. Appeltaart maken van zelfgeplukte appels. De geur van vers fruit. THE PARADISE ORCHARD
Philips Fruittuin is a large orchard sitting on the outskirts of the city center and in the middle of greenery – 12 hectares worth of apple, pear and plum pleasure. Originally, it was a work provision project established by Philips in 1930, one which also encouraged the workers to eat healthy fruit. Today, the modern buildings are designed to look as if they were built from old fruit crates. Walk among the rows of trees and you feel like you’re in paradise. The fruit is grown here with respect for nature. Think of the best picnic ever. Eating pancakes among the blossoms. In the fall, you can pick your own apples and bake a delicious pie at home. Think of the fresh fragrances. The colours are always beautiful, depending on the season.
